William Penn Jackson

Mr. William Penn Jackson, Sr. 69, of Birch Elmo Road, South Boston, VA departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in UVA Medical Center, Charlottesville, Virginia.

He was born November 1, 1954 in Halifax County, Virginia. He was the son of the late Joseph Jackson Jr., and the late Hallie B. Ferrell Jackson.

He was a member of Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Joann Jackson Mearite and a brother, Joseph Darnell Jackson.

He leaves behind a legacy through his children, William P. Jackson, Jr., Tyann Jackson both of Austin, TX and Cameron Jackson of Greenville, SC. His lineage continues through nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a devoted brother and caretaker, Ray L.C. Jackson of South Boston, VA; three sisters; Edna Logan (Eugene), Helen Brooke Jackson, and Ruby Chambers, one sister -in- law, Joyce W. Jackson, one uncle, Roy Ferrell; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 1:00 p.m. from Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church, South Boston, VA with Elder William Howerton, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
