Wayne Garrett Carter

Mr. Wayne Garrett Carter, 48, of 349 Bearskin Road, Chatham, VA, departed this life September 14, 2018 at Centra Medical Center in Gretna.
Born August 2, 1970, he was the son of Mrs. Laura Jean Carter Woodson, and the late Lawson Dodson Sr.
Mr. Carter was a graduate of Chatham High School and was employed with Nestle in Danville, Va.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother of the home. One son Jarvis Wayne Long; a brother, Lawson J. Dodson II, (Kometa); three aunts Gaynell (Rev. Robert) Miller of Danville, VA., Frances (Clint) Carter of Danville, VA., and Margret( Kenneth) Robertson of Chatham, VA.; three uncles, Joe Dodson, Raleigh Dodson, and Daniel Dodson (Valerie) all of Chatham, VA, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, September 21, 2018 at 1 p.m. by Rev. Robert Millner from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Fitzgerald family cemetery.
Viewing will be one hour prior to service.
Howerton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
