Mrs. Vivian Barbour Chattin, 102, of 211 Collie Street, Chatham, Virginia entered into eternal rest May 5, 2024 at Chatham Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 30, 1922 in Java, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Alex and Virginia Plunkett Barbour. She was married to Charlie Chattin Jr., who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her son, Kyle Chattin, granddaughter Yolunda Chattin and her siblings, Willie Barbour, Mary Lee Robinson, William Barbour, Curtis Barbour, Shirley Barbour and Pandora Womack.
She was educated in the Pittsylvania School system. In addition, she attended cosmetology school and received her beautician license.
She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and was a member of Riceville Missionary Baptist Church in Java, Virginia. She later joined Little Mount Zion Pentecostal Faith Church in Chatham, Virginia.
Left to cherish her memory is her great-grandson whom she raised, Frankie Traynham II(Victoria) of Graham, NC; daughter-in-law, Joyce Chattin of Danville, VA; two granddaughters, Monique Carter(George) of Danville, VA, and Kylita Chattin-Slade(Jermaine) of Roanoke, VA; one brother, Lawrence (Gus) Barbour of Temple Hills, Maryland, and a sister Amanda Dixon of Landover, Maryland; seven great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Mount Zion Pentecostal Faith Church with Elder Calvin White, Eulogist. Interment will follow at New Jerusalem Pentecostal Faith Church in Java, Virginia.
Viewing will be one hour prior to service.
