Vernell R. Hodnett

Mrs. Vernell R. Hodnett, 93, formerly of 316 Bear Skin Road, Chatham, Virginia passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 in Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
She was born June 2, 1926 in Pittsylvania County, VA. She was the daughter of the late Hobert Roher and the late Luecinnie Davis Roher. She was married to Cecil Hodnett, who predeceased her.
She was a member of Callands Baptist Church and a member of the floral committee.
Survivors include two sons, Earl Clifton Hodnett (Camilla), of Danville, VA, and Cecil D. Hodnett (Lenita), of Blairs, VA; one daughter, Brenda L. Hill, of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, two sisters, Bernice Walker (Elmer), of Martinsville, VA and Martha Fuller, of Anton, VA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, January 18, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Callands Missionary Baptist by Rev. Jimmy L. Tarpley. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m., the family will be present from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral.
The family is at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Earl C. Hodnett, 3917 R-L Smith Drive, Danville, VA.
