Stonewall Whitehead

Mr. Stonewall Junior Whitehead, 74, of 104 Robin Court, Chatham, Virginia departed this life Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in SOVAH Health in Danville, VA.

He was born January 20, 1949 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He was the son of the late Will Thomas and Irene Jones Whitehead. He was married to Doris Miller Whitehead, who survives.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves to cherish his memories a son, Stonewall Whitehead Knight of Connecticut; step-son, Frederick Miller (Kerry) of Florida; a brother, Charlie Whitehead (Libby) of Providence, NC; two sisters, Inez Hanks and Minnie Wright both of Chatham, VA; five grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 22, 202 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Howerton Funeral Home by Bishop John Coles. Burial will be in Smithfield Church Cemetery.

The family is at the residence, 104 Robin Court, Chatham, VA.

Masks are required for all services.
