Mr. Gordon P. Logan Sr., 87, of 118 Elliott Street, Danville, Virginia departed this life Saturday, April 8, 2017 in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born August 5, 1928 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Charlie and Lois Whitehead Logan. He was married to Georgia Logan, who survives.
He was a member of Little Mt. Zion Holiness Church, where served as a Deacon and a member of the Usher Board. He was employed by Kenny Cot Carpet Business.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by four brothers, Leslie, Joe. Larry and Charles Jr. Logan; five sisters, Pearl Prunty, Dorothy Younger, Evonne Williams, Margie and Sally Logan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gordon Logan Jr. and Gary Logan, both of Baltimore, MD; one daughter, Barbara Logan, Capital Heights, MD; one brother, Johnnie Logan, Chatham, VA; six sisters, Ester Thompson (Raleigh), Goldsboro, NC, Faye Turner (Alonza), Mae Nell Kelly, Mary Emma Logan, Catherine Stone (Carl), all of Chatham, VA, and Elner Guy (Randy), of Blairs, VA; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral service for Mr. Logan will be conducted Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 12 noon from Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Gretna, VA, by Bishop Mandora Hayes. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
