Sr. James A. Goggins

Mr. James A. Goggins Sr., 82, of 372 Hodnett Mill Road, Chatham, Virginia died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at his residence.

Born July 8,1934 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He was the son of the late Robert and Nellie Moorman Goggins. He was married to Vernell Starling Goggins, who survives.

James was of the Holiness Faith. He was retried from Dan River Mills.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James Goggins Jr, (Dorothy) of Danville, Va., and Robert Goggins (Judy), of Martinsville, Virginia; a daughter, Deborah Morton (Anthony), of Danville, Virginia; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren; two brothers, Bennie L. Goggins (Barbara), of Colonia Heights, Va., and Lewis E. Goggins (Patricia), of Seat Pleasant, Md.; two sisters, Doris Fuller, of Donora, Pa., and Alease Womack, of Monessen, Pa.; nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service for Mr. Goggins will be Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 1 p.m. from Howerton Funeral Chapel by Elder Allen Preston. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Burial Park, Chatham. Viewing will be Monday, May 1, 2017, from 4 until 7 p.m., the family will be present from 6 until 7 p.m.
