Ruby Dean

Mrs. Ruby Dean, 77, of 234 Prospect Street, Danville, Virginia departed this earthly life Tuesday, April 21, 2026 in Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born April 20, 1949 in Pittsylvania County. She was the daughter of the late Alec and Ruby Oakes Carter. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl D. Goldring.

She was a proud graduate of Northside High School.

She was a member of The Greater Canaan Land Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Marlin Rainey, Davaughn Dean and Cornell Sweetney; her son-in-law, Daniel Goldring Sr.; grandchildren; Antonyo Plater (Genesis), Daniel Goldring Jr., Shawntiece Lee, Jai'Niyah and Jai'Yanna Rainey; great grandchildren; ZaMari and Jeremiah Plater; her devoted cousin/sister, Rebecca C. Johnson; close relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 12:00 Noon from The Greater Canaan Land Church with Bishop Raymond Bennett, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
