Rosa A. Word

Miss Rosa A. Word, 77, of Danville, VA, departed this life Friday September 13, 2019 in Cardia Health Care Center in Hyattsville, MD.

She was born January 15, 1942 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Willie Sr., and Rubena Stone Word. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two siblings, Robert Lee Word and Bernice Word.

She was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from the American Furniture Company in Martinsville.

Survivors include one son, Danny Jones Sr., of Chatham, VA; a devoted friend of 30 years, James R. Fitzgerald, of Danville, VA; two grandsons, Danny M. Jones Jr. (Quanesha), and Jeremy N. Jones (Natasha);two great granddaughters, Zymaia and Jada Jones; two brother, Eugene Word (Nancy), of Martinsville, and Sammie Word, of Chatham; two devoted nephews, Lawrence Word , of Danville, and James Stone, of Axton; other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home by Rev, William L. Tarpley. Burial will be in Hill Crest Memorial Burial Park, Chatham.

The Family is at the residence of her nephew, Lawrence Word, 436 Cedarbrook Drive, Danville.
