Rosa Odessa Poole

Miss Rosa Odessa Poole, 69, of 1336 Dr. Milman Road, Sutherlin, Virginia, quietly departed this life Friday, January 26, 2018 in Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC.
Rosa was born November 4, 1948 in Pittsylvania County. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mandora Howerton Poole.
She was a member of Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the Financial Secretary, a member of the Senior Choir, Missionary Ministry, pass director of the Angle and Junior Choir, organized the Wilbert and Rosa Poole Scholarship Fund.
Rosa attended Pittsylvania County Schools, Danville Community College, She was also a graduate of Averett University, Danville, Virginia, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1981. Rose received her Master of Arts in Christian Education from Jackson Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Florida. She was employed by Pittsylvania County Community Action, Inc. as Director of Finance. She was also a member of ABWA.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two siblings, L.C. Poole and Patricia Glass.
Survivors include one brother, Bobby Poole (Washington D.C); three sisters, Jean Poole of the residence, Mollie Brewington (Hyde Park, Mass.) and Joyce Davis ( Ringgold, VA), a honorary sister, Ola M. Daniels (South Boston, VA), a cherisher friend, Polly Richardson (Keeling, VA); nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 11am from the Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Thomas L. Divens. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. from the funeral home.
