Rosa Jones

Mrs. Rosa Jones, 82, of 1040 Abbott Place, Chatham, Virginia departed this life Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in Piney Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born December 15, 1942 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia.  She was the daughter of the late Elijah and Chessie Waller Whitehead. She was married to Hosea Jones, who predeceased her.

She was the last of her generation.

She was a member of Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, a son, Darrell Jones of Chatham, VA and a daughter, Sherita Jones of Chatham, VA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step sisters, Elna Witcher of Chatham, VA and Betty J. Walker (Bobby) of Blairs, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Antonel A. Myler, Sr., Eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 4-6 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.
