Robert Ewell

Mr. Robert S. Ewell, 66, of 1080 Ewell Lane, Vernon Hill, Virginia, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 in VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia.

He was born January 4, 1956 in Pittsylvania County, the son of Mr. Johnnie Ewell and Mrs. Susie Williams Ewell, who survives.

He was a member of Mt. Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was employed by Joe & Mimma’s Restaurant.

Two brothers, Henry and Lonnie Ewell, predeceased him.

In addition to his parents he is survived by a son, Robert McCain; a daughter, Alexis Saunders (Cedric) of Martinsville, VA; four sisters, Christine Anderson (Randy) of Blairs, VA, Carol Tanner (Rev. T. Dexter) of Keeling, VA, Penny Wilson (Johnnie) of Vernon Hill, VA, and Doris Ewell of Ringgold, VA; three uncles, three aunts, and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Elliott, Eulogist.

Viewing will be Friday, February 11, 2022 from 4-6 P.M. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.

Masks are required for all services.
