Polly Saunders Cosby

Ms. Polly Saunders Cosby 66, of 327 Payne Street, Gretna, VA, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 at her residence.

She was born February 26, 1955 in Pittsylvania County, VA. She was the daughter of the late Ruth Yvonne Calloway and Harris T. Stone.

Polly was educated in Pittsylvania County Schools and was retired from Hampco in Chatham.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Charmain Tomika Davis, a brother, Victor Calloway, a sister, Jonidean Stone and grandmother, Sally Bet Saunders.

Survivors include two daughters, Tonia R. Saunders of Woodbridge, VA, Jimelle O. Davis of Gretna, VA; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; four sisters, Pricilla Carter, Marilyn Myers, Cordie (Jeanette) Calloway, all of Danville, VA, Linda Stone of Chatham, VA, two brothers Willie (Ice) Calloway Jr., of Danville, VA, and Thomas H. Stone Jr., of Baltimore, MD; a brother-in-law, Edward Carter, of Danville, VA; nieces, nephews other relatives and friend.

Graveside service will be Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1 p.m. in Bell Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Roger William, officiating.

Viewing will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. from the chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.

Masks are required for all services.
