Mrs. Pearl Edna Baker, 75, of 1225 Beverly Height Road, Chatham, Virginia, departed this life Sunday, December 3, 2017 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born June 14, 1942 in Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Pearl Lovelace Carter. She was married to Wesley Baker, who predeceased her.
She was a member of Lifeline Gospel Church.
Survivors include five children, Earl Carter (Napasha) of Atlanta, GA, James Baker, Charles Baker (Lanettia), Clyde Baker (Judy), all of Rocky Mt., VA, Lewis Baker (Minister Demetria) of Rustburg, VA, and Sharon B. McLaughlin (Eugene), of Chatham, VA; 20 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Carter Sr. (Ella), Gretna, VA and Dave Carter (Deloise), Newark, NJ; four sisters, Mary Stone, Danville, VA, Pauline West, Lynchburg, VA, Corrine Rosser (Eugene) and Dorothy Davis (Robert), all of Long Island, VA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Mrs. Baker will be Friday, December 8, 2017 at 1 p.m. from Lifeline Gospel Church by Bishop James Chalmers. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing will Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
