Mrs. Patty I. Howerton, 73, of 99 Beavers Mill Rd. Danville, Virginia entered into a peaceful sleep Monday, June 20, 2022 in SOVAH Health Danville.
She was born December 31, 1948 in Danville, VA. She was the daughter of the late Henry Irvin and Janie Mae West Irvin. She was married to Jerome Howerton, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by four brothers, Henry Irvin, Forris Irvin, Thomas Irvin, Larry Irvin, and a sister, Thelma Irvin Walker.
She was the last of her generation.
She was a member of Bellevue Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a senior usher, choir member, a member of the Missionary Board, Kitchen Committee and Pastor’s Aide Committee.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving daughter, Katrice Howerton of Woodbridge, VA; a niece, Tiara J. Walker and nephew, Jonathan E. Walker, both of Wedgefield, S.C.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from Bellevue Missionary Baptist Church, Danville, VA with Rev. Clarence McLaughlin, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Floral Hill Memory Gardens, Danville, VA.
Viewing will be Friday, June 24, 2022 from 4-6 p.m. with family in attendance from 5-6 p.m. at the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.
Masks are required for all services.
