Myrtle Saunders

Mrs. Myrtle Saunders, 78, of 102 Robins Court, Chatham, Virginia, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 in Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, N.C.

She was born July 12, 1942 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Isaac and Martha Lippford Coles.  She was married to George E. Saunders, who predeceased her.

She was a member of Shockoe Baptist Church and was retired from Dan River Mill.

Survivors include one son, George Saunders (Betty), of Whitsett, NC; two sisters, Hazel Simms (Alvin), of Chester, PA, and Sarah Crews, of Danville, VA; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Monday, April 19, 2021 at 3p.m. from Howerton Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Antonel Myler. Burial will follow in Shockoe Church Cemetery, Java, VA.

Viewing will be Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
