Mentha (McNorton) Strothers

Mrs. Mentha McNorton Strothers, 77, of 280 Quail Drive, Danville, Virginia departed this life Thursday, March 16, 2023 at her residence.

She was born April 27, 1945 in Pittsylvania County, VA. She was the daughter of the late Marcellas and Virginia Womack McNorton.  She was married to Hulett “Chuck” Strothers, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Percy Lee Womack McNorton, Marcellas Richard McNorton and Charles Robert McNorton and sisters, Joanne McNorton McLaughlin and Gloria Weeks McNorton.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sisters; Garland McNorton Townes of Stanford, CO. and Rev. Otelia Barksdale-Osahon of Chatham, VA, sisters-in-law, Maria McNorton and Caroline McNorton, a brother-in-law, Eugene McLaughlin, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home with Rev. Doris Morrison, Eulogist. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in the Greater Triumph Church Cemetery.

Masks are required for all services.
