Ms. Mellissa Anderson, 49, of 1152 North Main Street, Chatham, Virginia, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017 in Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born December 25, 1967 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Claiborne Anderson and the late Beulah Oakes Anderson.
She was employed by Dan River Mills.
She is survived by a daughter, Brittney Anderson, of the U.S. Air Force; a sister, Linda Anderson Bradley, of Danville, VA; a brother, Jerry Anderson (Keasha), of Eden, NC; two aunts, Eunice Oakes Allen, of Chatham, VA, and Dassie Burton (Leroy), of Danville, VA; other relatives and friends.
The family is at the residence of her aunt, Eunice Oakes Allen, 18833 US Hwy. 29, Chatham, VA.
Funeral service for Ms. Anderson will be conducted Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from Howerton Funeral Chapel. Eulogy will be given by Rev. Willie Giggetts.
Viewing will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home.
