Mrs. Mary Williams Logan, 77, of 772 Hickory Road, Chatham, Virginia departed this life Friday, March 31, 2017 in Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC after declining in health for several weeks.
Mrs. Logan was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia on May 17, 1939, daughter of the late Sarah Williams Luck and the late step-father Robert Luck. She was married to Johnny Logan who survives.
She was a member of Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the Missionary Society, Usher Board and Shockoe Courts of Calanthe.
Survivors in addition to her husband of the home include two sons; Barry Logan of Chatham, VA, Danny Logan( Kim), of Chesapeake, VA, one daughter, Lois Beard (Keith), of Crown Point, IN; half- brother, Jerome Howerton (Pattie), half- sister, Areweeter Howerton, both of Danville, VA; one brother in-law, Gordan Logan (Georgia), of Danville, VA; six sisters-in-law, Esther Thompson (Raleigh), Goldsboro, NC, Faye Turner (Alonza), Mae Nell Kelly, Mary Emma Logan, Catherine Stone ( Carl), all of Chatham, VA, Elner Guy (Randy), of Blairs, VA; nieces, nephew, and other relatives.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 12 noon from Shockoe Baptist Church by Rev. Antonel Myler. Burial will be in Mt. Nebo Church Cemetery, Gretna, VA.
Viewing will be Monday from 4-7 p.m.; the family will be present from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
