Marvin Jones

Mr. Marvin Jones, 55, of 304 Parks Apartment, Chatham, Virginia, entered into a peaceful sleep Tuesday July 23, 2019 in Bedford Hospice House in Bedford, Virginia.
He was born August 23, 1963 in Pittsylvania County. He was the son of the late Zester and Elvira Kates Jones.
He graduated from Gretna high School and attended Woodrow Wilson School in Charlottesville, VA.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Larry, Zester Jr, and Leroy Jones.
Survivors include brothers, David Jones (Patricia), both of Chatham, Johnny Jones (Mavis), New Haven, CT, James Jones, Allentown, NJ, Danny Jones and Willie Jones, both of Danville; one sister, Dinah Jones, of
Washington, DC; three aunts, Ophelia Jones, Judith Mae Gregory and Lillie Craft; two uncles, James and Albert Kates; two sisters-in-law, Joan and Sybil Jones; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial Service will be Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home, by Rev. Donnell Johnson.
The family will receive friends at the residence of his brother, Mr. David Jones, 106 Robin Court, Chatham, VA.
Howerton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
