Deaconess Martha Lee Waller passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 at the residence of her daughter in Lorton, Virginia.
Born January 30, 1938 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late William and Annie Pearl Law Tarpley. She was married to Albert Russell Waller, who predeceased her.
She was a member of Tarpley Chapel Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the Deaconess and Usher Board, Hospitality Committee, Nurses Unity and combined Choir. She was retired from Pittsylvania County School System and a chief poll officer for Pittsylvania County.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons; Russell Wyatt Waller (Jani) of Willingboro, NJ and Craig Levi Waller (Sophronia) of Blairs, VA; three daughters; Matoka Forbes (Dennis) of Burke, VA, Jackie Pearl Waller Russell of Lorton, VA and Margaree Yolanda Darden (John Henry) of Springfield, VA; five sisters, Tiny Williams, Ruby Ralley, Sylvia Crawley, Rev. Joan Tarpley- Robinson, Della D. Millner, ten grandchildren, three great-children; one aunt, Mattie Cabell; two uncles, Floyd Breedlove (Vera) and Thomas White; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be Friday, November 18, 2022 from 3-4 p.m. for the family and 4-5 p.m. for the public from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 12 noon from Tarpley Chapel Baptist Church, Dry Fork, VA with Rev. Robert L. Divens Jr., Eulogist. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Masks are required for all services.
