Lydia K. Murrell

Mrs. Lydia K. Murrell, 99, of 675 Hollyville Drive, Dry Fork, Virginia passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 in Danville Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 4, 1918 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Raleigh Boney and the late Dell Tarpley. She was married to the late Charlie Murrell, Sr.

She was a member of Union Hall Baptist Church, member of first Usher Board and Food Committee.

Survivors include a son, Charlie Murrell, Jr. and a daughter, Laverne Murrell, both of Dry Fork; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and one sister, Delsie Wood, of Chatham, and a devoted caregiver, Joanna Gail Springfield, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mrs. Murrell will be held Thursday Aug.24 2017 2 p.m. at Union Hall Baptist Church by Rev. Leroy Thomas. Burial will follow in the Murrell Family Cemetery in Dry Fork, VA

Viewing will be Wednesday 4-7pm from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.
