Kevin (Shorty) Barksdale

Mr. Kevin (Shorty) Barksdale, 42, of 90 Vandola Road, Danville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Bon Secours Memorial Hospital in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

He was born March 6, 1978 in Chatham, Virginia. He was the son of the late Nathaniel Barksdale and Otelia Barksdale Oshana. He was married to Kathy H. Barksdale, who survives.

He was a member of New Hope A.M.E. Methodist Church. He was a self-employed Truck Driver.

Survivors in addition to his wife and mother, include a daughter, Joe❜dyn Campbell Barksdale, of Lynchburg, VA; three step-children, Mychael, Christy and Courtney Hutsell, all of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, Nathaniel and André Barksdale, both of Altavista, VA; ten step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 1 p.m., in Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Michael K. Ferrell.

Viewing will be Saturday from 4-7 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home. Mask and Social Distance is required with only ten people at a time.
