Katherlene Carter

Mrs. Katherlene Carter, of 904 Callands Road, Chatham, Virginia died Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in Duke Pavilion, Durham, NC.

She was born May 10, 1947 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late James and Gladys Scruggs. She was married to Charles C. Carter, who predeceased her.

She was a member of New Hope A.M.E. Church. She was a retired Pittsylvania County School Teacher.

Survivors include a daughter, Tonya C. McCoy, of Durham, NC; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Chatham, with Rev. Prenceanna Craft, Eulogist.
