Jr. Ira J. Polk

Mr. Ira J. Polk, Jr., 77, of 432 Brownville Height, Java, Virginia, departed this life June 23, 2018 in Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born March 17, 1941 in Halifax County he was the son of the late Ira J. Polk Sr. and the late Maude Stephens Polk. He was married to Annie M. Polk, who survives.
He was a member of Countyline Baptist Church and was employed by Capps Shoes, Halifax, VA.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Teresa Polk Luck (Carl) of Reidsville, NC; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren; four sisters, Clara Polk of Keeling, VA; Mary, Hilda and Yolanda Polk all of Vernon Hill, VA and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Polk will conducted Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 12:00 pm from the Howerton
Funeral Home Chapel, by Bishop Joseph Dixon. Interment will follow in Christ In You Worship Center Cemetery, Vernon, VA.
Viewing will be one hour prior to service.
