Mrs. Joyce Witcher Chattin, 70, of 229 Berman Drive, Danville, Virginia entered into a peaceful rest on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at her residence.
She was born November 16, 1955 in Pittsylvania County. She was the daughter of the late Maurice and Mary Witcher and was married to the late Kyle Chattin. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Yolunda Chattin; and her brother, Jamie Witcher.
She attended Chatham High School and retired from Times Fiber after 39 years of faithful service.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Monique Carter (George) of Danville, VA, and Kylita Slade (Barry) of Roanoke, VA; seven grandchildren, Tia Chattin, Frankie Traynham (Victoria), Corey Plummer, Tamara Plummer, Tynia Chattin, Tristan Slade, and Barry Slade Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Terea Myers, Joe Powell Jr., Kyle Guy, and Kaiden Rhodes; three brothers, Maurice Witcher (Rose) and Shawn Witcher, both of Chatham, VA, and Travis Witcher of Anchorage, Alaska; one sister, Rebecca Mitchell (Joaquin) of Virginia Beach, VA; one aunt, Sterling Smith of Chatham, VA; three godchildren, Brandon Gregory, Nichole Crews, and Knyla Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Memorial services for Mrs. Chattin will be Friday, April 17, 2026 at 12:00 noon from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home with Minister Doris Morrison, Eulogist.
