Joe Ann Carter Stone

Mrs. Joe Ann Carter Stone, 69, of 1820 Coby Avenue, Greensboro, N.C., departed this life Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC.

Born June 27, 1947 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Bertha Harris Carter. She was married to Melvin Stone, who survives.

She attended First United Holiness Church. She was employed by National Board for Certified Counselors, in Greensboro, NC, and was a U.S. Army Veteran.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Jaithan Stone, of Greensboro, NC; five sisters, Clara Carter, Temple Hills, Md., Stella Greene, Phyllis Lewis and Cherran kissee, all of Danville, VA, and Donna Carter, Chatham, VA; one aunt, Kathlene Witcher, of Fairfax, VA; other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mrs. Stone will be conducted Friday, February 24, 2017 at 12:00 noon from First United Holiness Church by Apostle Willie Giggetts. Burial with Military rites will be in Chatham Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence of her sister, Donna Carter, Depot Street, Chatham.
