Jessie Fontaine

Mr. Jessie Fontaine of 471 Fontaine Rd., Cascade, Virginia departed this life on Sunday, January 5, 2025 in Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia.

He was born May 24, 1930 in Henry County, Virginia.  He was the son of the late Jerry S. and Lillie Watkins-Fontaine. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine Brown-Fontaine. He was also preceded in death by his son, Robert L. Fontaine and brother, Leon M. Fontaine.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted brother, John P. Fontaine of Chatham, Virginia; three sisters; Cecil Ward(Lewis), Mary Estes both of New York State and Maude Hudson of Virginia; two grandchildren, Nicole Fontaine and Jermel Fontaine; eight great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and close friends around the globe.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry S. Fontaine, Eulogist.  Interment will follow with military rites in the Fontaine Family Cemetery, Cascade, Virginia.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
