Jerry Younger

Mr. Jerry Younger, 80, of 637 North Main St. Chatham, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at his residence after a long illness.

He was born November 25, 1941 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He was the son of the late Rosa Younger Shaw.

He was a member of Rosebud Baptist Church. He was educated in the Pittsylvania County School System and graduated from Northside High School in Gretna, Virginia in 1960.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Ottenberg Bakery in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Younger leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 53 years, Barbara Younger; one daughter, Terri Lavonne Younger, both of the residence; one brother, Minister Orbry Younger of Callands, VA; mother-in-law, Mittie P. Bagley, Lawrenceville, VA; god-daughter, Tanya Logan(Jerald); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside service with Military rites will be Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Burial Park in Chatham by Minister Orbry Younger.

Viewing will be Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4-6 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.

Masks are required for all services.
