Mr. Jerome A. Howerton, 69, of 99 Beaver Mill Road, Danville, Virginia departed this life Thursday, October 26, 2017 in Salem VA Medical Center, Salem, VA.
He was born December 25, 1947 in Danville, VA, a son of the late Toby and Lorana Bradley Howerton. He was married to Patty Irvin Howerton, who survives.
He was a member of Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he a member of the Male Chorus, Senior Choir and Trustee Board. Jerome was a United States Army Veteran, and was employed by Goodyear Tire Company.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three brothers and a sister, Carl, Clarence and Wilbert Howerton and Mary Logan.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Howerton, of the residence; a daughter, Katrice Howerton, of Woodbridge, VA, a brother, Winston Howerton, of Harrisonburg, PA; a sister, Areweeter Howerton-Mayo, of Danville, VA; a brother-in-law, Johnny Logan, of Chatham, VA; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Mr. Howerton will be Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 1 p.m. from Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Thomas L. Divens. Burial with Military rites will be in Floral Hill Memory Gardens, Danville, VA.
Viewing will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. the family will be present from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
