Inell McGhee Goode

Mrs. Inell McGhee Goode, 82, of 12601 Kentuck Road, Sutherlin, Virginia passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 in SOVAH Health Care Center, Danville, Virginia.

She was born January 25, 1938 in Halifax County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late John and Winifred McGhee. She was married to Henry Goode, who predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Anne Glenn, Cindy Smith, and Laura Wimbush.

She was a member of Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Deaconess Ministry, Missionary Society, Senior Choir, Kitchen Committee, and Church Custodian for many years until her health failed. She was retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company, and VC restaurant in Danville, VA.

Survivors include three sons, Clarence Goode, of Danville, VA, Joseph Goode (Sandra), of Java, VA, and Allen Goode, of the residence; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; three brothers, Raymond McGhee (Penelope), of Danville, VA, Alexander and John McGhee, of New York; four sisters Katie Gunn and Leonie Cobbs of Danville, VA, Winifred McGhee and Martha Wimbush, of New York; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be Friday, January 15, 2021 at 12 noon in Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Thomas L. Divens.

Viewing will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 at a time.

Mask and six feet apart is required at all time.
