Hazel F. Fontaine

Mrs. Hazel F. Fontaine, 82, of 4060 Banister Road, Chatham, Virginia, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at her residence.

She was born December 25, 1938 in Virginia.  She was the daughter of the late Waverly and Mary Carter Deering. She was married to John Fontaine, who survives.

Hazel was a member of New Design Baptist Church. She was a member of ABWA, and NAACP.

She was a graduate of Central Commercial High School in New York.  She was employed as a secretary in New York for many years.

Survivors in addition to her husband of the residence, include two sons, Rev. Dr. Jerry Fontaine, of Chatham, VA, and Donnie L. Fontaine (Wileen), of Dallas, GA; two sisters, Dorothy Simpkins (Ted), of Roanoke, VA, and Evelyn Holm; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relative and friends.

Graveside services for Mrs. Fontaine will be Monday, April 5, 2021 at 2 p.m. in Danville Memorial Gardens, by Rev. Tony Dillard.
