Goldie Scruggs Green

Mrs. Goldie Scruggs Green departed this life on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Trinities Medical Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was born in New York and grew up in Chatham, Virginia. She was the daughter of James and Gladys Scruggs, the granddaughter of Robert and Eliza Hodnett Pannell. She was married to William Green.

In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by four children, William Bryant, Sandra Lynn Jones, Kenneth Maurice, and Sue-Cheryl; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; her sister, Katherlene Carter of Chatham, VA; a niece Tonya McCoy of Durham, NC; a cousin Evon Price of Knightdale, NC and Abbi Hurt who she fondly claimed as her first baby girl.

Funeral service will be Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Howerton Funeral Home, with Reverend Otelia Barksdale, Eulogist.

Masks are required for all services.
