Gloria Johnson

Ms. Gloria Johnson, 75, of 109 New Hope Way, Danville, Virginia, departed this life Sunday, April 7, 2024 in Danville.

She was born April 1, 1949 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late King Arthur and Pernella Stone Jones. She was also predeceased by an adopted daughter, Omonike Jones and two brothers, James Motley and Hosea Jones, one sister, Kathaleen Alston.

She was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Nordstrom Department Store.

Survivors include three brothers, Otis Jones, and Robert Jones ( Barbara ), both of Maryland, Amos Jones (Karen), of Java, VA; three sisters, Jean C. Jones, of D.C., Mae Napper, of Danville, and Faith Childress, of Highpoint, N.C. ; two sisters-in-law, Rosa Jones and Shirley Motley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Ms. Johnson will be Saturday, April13, 2024 at 12:00 noon from Shockoe Baptist Church, by Rev. Antonel Myler, Sr..  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Viewing will be Friday, April 12, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.
