Esther Thompson

Mrs. Esther Logan Thompson, 90, of 106 Ervin Drive, Goldsboro, NC, departed this life June 27, 2025 at her residence.

She was born February 27, 1935 in Pittsylvania County.  She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Lois Whitehead Logan. She was married to Raleigh Thompson Jr., who survives.

She was a former member of Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband of the residence, she leaves to cherish her memories four daughters; Jo Ann Tyson of Garner, NC, Valerie Manley of Cary, NC, Carrol Rouse (Michael) of Winterville, NC and Delinda Duckett (Jean Paul) of Triangle, VA; five grandchildren; Tyler Rouse, Garrett Manley, Torrey Rouse, Kameron Manley, and Danielle Tyson; a brother, Johnnie Logan; five sisters, Faye Turner, Maynell Kelly, Elner Guy, Mary Logan and Catherine Stone (Carl); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 12 Noon from Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Jasper Beard, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA.
