Mr. Ester Roosevelt Hunt, 75, of 3745 Grit Rd., Hurt, Virginia passed Saturday, May 27, 2017 at his residence.
Born January 7, 1942 in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late Jimmy and Irene Craft Hunt. He was married to Laura Robertson Hunt, who survives.
Hunt was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and was a member of the Usher Board. He was employed by Gibson Palette Lumber Company.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Rev. Donald Johnson, (Glendora), of Chatham, VA, and Tony Hunt, (Katrina), of Hurt, VA; six daughters, Tallulla Canada, of Gretna, VA, Amy Moore, (Antonia), Axton, VA; Tammy Hunt, Taqushia Hunt, Jomanda Robertson and Terry Hunt, all of Hurt, VA; one brother, Carol Hunt, of Hurt, VA; two sisters, Loretta Robinson, of AltaVista, VA, and Norma Jean Bailey (Archie), of Hurt, VA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Mr. Hurt will conducted Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from New Bethel Baptist Church in Hurt by Rev. Theodore Foster. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. from the funeral home.
The family is at residence, 3745 Grit Rd., Hurt, VA.
