Erner F. Lanier

Mrs. Erner F. Lanier, 87, of 1848 Motley Mill Road, Chatham, Virginia, departed this life Saturday, October 14, 2017 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 2, 1930 in Pittsylvania County, VA. She was the daughter of the late Dave and Hester Palmer Fitzgerald. She was married to James Lanier, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Shockoe Baptist Church and a member of Shockoe Court of Calanthe #250. She was retired cook from Mary❜s Diner.
Survivors include three sons, James C. Lanier Jr, of Eden, NC, Owen Lanier, of the residence and Rex Lanier, Highpoint, NC; four daughters, Barbara Simington (Eddie), of Tenn., Verna Smith (Phillip), Cascade, VA, Hester Brown (Stephen), Richmond, VA, and Sharon Adams (Keith), Blairs, VA; 26 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements will be Thursday October 19, 2017 at 11am from Shockoe Baptist Church by Rev. Anthonel Myler. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be one hour prior to service at the church.
