Mrs. Emma Jean Parker-Davis, 74, of 200 North Point Lane, Apartment 101, Danville, Virginia, departed this life Monday, October 5, 2020 in VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia.
She was born May 24, 1946 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Allen and Sina Younger Bennett.
She was a member of Shockoe Baptist Church and was retired from Whiting-Turner Construction Company in Maryland.
She was predeceased by one daughter Charlene Giggetts.
Survivors include her husband, John R. Davis, of the residence, two sons, Wendell Parker (Catina), and Victar Parker, all of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; a step-son, Lamont Cockrell, of Florida; one daughter Marilyn Gross (Nathan), Glen Burnie, MD; Two step-daughters , Marie Giggetts and Latay Spinks, Upper Marlboro, MD; four brothers, Hubert, Clement, Hugh all of Chatham,VA, and John Bennett of Fredricksburg, VA; four sisters, Peggy Fitzgerald, Washington, DC, Bernice Younger and Frances Miller (William), all of Gretna, VA and Isabelle Anderson, of Chatham., VA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service for Mrs. Davis will be Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in Highland Burial Park at 12:00 noon by Minister Alfreda Bennett.
Viewing will be Tuesday, October13, 2020 from 5-7p.m from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.
Due to COVID-19, face mask and social distancing are required.
