Edith Barksdale

Miss Edith "Nuddie" Barksdale, 62, of 26 Pine Street, Chatham, VA departed this life on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at her residence.

She was born August 4, 1960 in Pittsylvania County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Luevinia Irvin Barksdale. She was also predeceased by five brothers, Carlton J. Carter, Nathaniel, Ray, Jack and Curtis Barksdale and two sisters, Glory Charles and Beatrice Kinzer.

She was a member of Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, Chatham, VA.

Survivors include one brother, James (Mickey) Barksdale, of Waldorf, MD; two sisters, Dale Carter, of Danville, VA and Emily Barksdale, of Chatham, VA; a devoted nephew, Michael Barksdale, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Otelia Osahon. Viewing will be one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Burial Park, Chatham.

Masks are required for all services.
