Deacon Willie Arthur (Sonny) Edmonds

Deacon Willie Arthur (Sonny) Edmonds of 621 Garfield Street Danville, VA departed this life Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
He was born June 14, 1935 in Halifax County, VA to the late Roosevelt and Louise Hankins Edmonds. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Edmonds, who predeceased him.
He was a member of Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the deacon board and usher board. He was employed by the City of Danville for more than thirty years. He was a member of Olympic Lodge # 179 and Danville Deacons Union.
In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by three sisters, Nannie ‶Dollbaby″ Logan, Bernice Coleman and Agnes Irene Myers.
Survives include two sisters, Rosa Walker and Florence Lipford, both of Danville, VA; grandmother Irene Hankins of South Boston, VA; a brother-in-law Walter Coleman of Chester, PA, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist by Rev. Thomas L. Divens. Burial will be in Floral Hill Memory Garden.
Viewing will Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.
