Mr. Danny Townes, 72, of 803 Walnut Creek Rd. Danville, VA departed this life October 26, 2022 in SOVAH Health of Danville.
He was born May 2, 1950 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He was the son of the late Robert Townes, Sr. and late Olivia Stone Townes. He was also predeceased by his brother, Frank Allen Townes and sister, Sandra Townes Vaden. He was married to Murdis Townes, who survives.
He was a member of Wilson Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, Chatham, Virginia where he served as Trustee.
In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish two sons, Danny Lee Townes, Jr. of Chatham, VA and Christopher David Townes of Eden Prairie, MN, two brothers, Robert Townes, Jr. (Connie) of Stamford, CT and Steven Townes, Sr. (Jacqueline) of Raleigh, NC, two granddaughters, two brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, one aunt, a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 12 Noon from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony McClary, Eulogist. Viewing will be two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Burial Park, Chatham, VA.
Masks are required for all services.
