Ms. Cynthia Howell, 53, of 554 Summerwalk Road, Greensboro, NC, and formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the residence.
Born December 12, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Milton and Ernestine Gee Howell, and granddaughter of the late Herman and Bessie Gee.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, South Orange, NJ; Founder of Families United for Justice a member of the Justice Committee, develop the Children Enhancement Committee, worked with National Action Network, Black Lives Matter, and Africa America Forum Policy.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Dwayne and Dante Howell, both of Greensboro, NC; and other relative and friends.
Funeral service for Ms. Howell will be conducted Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from Howerton Funeral Chapel by Rev. Joan Tarpley Robinson. Burial will be in Hillcrest Burial Park, Chatham, VA.
Viewing will be from 12 noon until the time of service.
The family is at the residence of Ms. Josephine Gee, 244 Concord Road, Chatham, VA.
