Clara R. Barksdale

Mrs. Clara R. Barksdale, 72, of 1259 Beverly Heights Road, Chatham, VA, departed this live Sunday, May 9, 2021at Sovah Health Care Center.

She was born October 14, 1948 in Pittsylvania County. She was the daughter of the late Hardy W. Barley and the late Gracie Fitzgerald Barley. She was married to Hiawatha Barksdale, who predeceased; she was also predeceased by one grandchild.

She was a member New True Vine Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was retired from Bojangles.

Survivors include a son, Anthony L. Barley (Rhonda), of Detroit MI: two daughters, Katherine Barley and Avis Barksdale, both of the residence; 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Graveside service for Mrs. Barksdale will be Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Chatham, Virginia by Elder Theodore Jones Jr.

Viewing will be Friday May 14, 2021 from 4-6 p.m. from the chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.
