Calvin Fitzgerald Obituary

Mr. Calvin Fitzgerald, 66, of 234 Fagan Street, Danville, Virginia departed this life Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at his residence.

He was born December 13, 1957 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He was the son of the late Toy and Ruby Barksdale Fitzgerald. He was also predeceased by a brother and sister, Raymond and Alease Fitzgerald.

He attended Pittsylvania County public schools, and was a United State Army Veteran. He was employed by Times Fiber and Unique Industries.

Survivors include a daughter, Shaneaka ‘Nikki’ Dodson, (Antonio), of Dry Fork, and step-daughter, Shaleta Thomas (Wade), of Ringgold;  six grandchildren, and one great-grand child; one brother, Marion Fitzgerald, of Germany; two sisters, Bernice Waller (Robert), of Maryland, and Queen Ester Fitzgerald, of Danville; one aunt Sarah Hamn, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Younger, Eulogist. Interment with Military rites will follow in Highland Burial Park, Danville.

Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.
