Abendia Beavers

Mrs. Abendia Taylor Beavers, 93, of Danville, Virginia, departed this life on April 10, 2023 in SOVAH Health, Danville with family by her side.

Born March 13, 1930 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late John L. Taylor and the late Willie Walters Taylor.  She was married to Koyeton H. Beavers, Jr., who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her twin Mildred T. Johnston, brothers, Harvey, Douglas, Junius, Carl and Samuel (“Buck”).

She attended Pittsylvania County schools and attended Virginia State College located in Ettrick, Virginia.

She was member of Holbrook Street Presbyterian Church. She served faithfully for decades as Elder, Deacon, Trustee, Usher and Vacation Bible School Teacher.

She is survived by devoted daughters, Shirley B. Cunningham (Wayne), Edwina V. Beavers, Rhonda B. Chandler (Bellfield); four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister,  Marian T. Tyrance, a goddaughter, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 4-6 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 12 noon from Holbrook Street Presbyterian Church, Danville, VA with Evangelist Judy Fallen, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the Beavers Family Cemetery.

Masks are required for all services.
