Jerelene Fitzgerald

Mrs. Jerelene A. Terry Fitzgerald, 99, of Ft. Washington, MD departed this life on December 23, 2022 surrounded by her family.

She was born September 2, 1923 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Eddie and Elnora Glass Terry. She was married to Roe Dock Fitzgerald, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Terry J. Fitzgerald, two brothers, James and David Terry, two sisters, Izetta Dixon and Marion Y. Terry and son-in-law, Jimmy Watson.

She was educated in the Pittsylvania County Schools.

She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Flushing, NY, where she served as Deaconess.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted daughter, Earnestine A. Fitzgerald of Ft. Washington, MD; an adopted daughter, Louise Hughes of Washington, DC, a special niece, Gloria Fitzgerald of Union City, NJ; three granddaughters, Nikki Smith and London Sutton of Ft. Washington, MD and Cheryl Davis of Bowie, MD; one grandson, Darryn Fitzgerald of Danville, VA; three great-granddaughters, Kail-La Jerelene Smith of Ft. Washington, MD, Jalyn Fitzgerald and Jada Burkes of Danville, VA; six great-grandsons, Kaleb Blackwell, Kyle Smith and Derek Rogers, II of Ft. Washington, MD, Darryn, Destyn and Daelyn Fitzgerald of Danville, VA; a host of nieces, nephews other family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from Shockoe Baptist Church, Java, VA with Rev. Antonel Myler, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Masks are required for all services.
